SOT Viloortos is designed for hands that need the support of an orthosis at rest or for stretching, to maintain or increase hand mobility. The well-designed biomechanical positioning of the joints stimulates the spastic hand to relax and can also help reduce pain. The orthosis can also be used to position the wrist in a neutral position. The cover (or blanket as it is also called) distributes pressure well on the volar and dorsal side of the hand and arm, thus preventing or eliminating swelling. The orthosis is delivered in a basic resting position. It can be easily converted to POSI (Position of Safe Immobilization) for use after trauma and hand surgery.SOT is a flexible and lightweight orthosis with a modern look. The aluminum core allows the brace to be easily fine-tuned to the desired position. The aluminum core is encased in polyethylene foam covered with a comfortable textile. The smooth exterior of the cover and the low profile of the orthosis allow it to fit under clothing.The orthosis comes with a number of additional accessories. The inelastic wrist band can be used to provide a firmer pressure across the wrist, e.g. for spasticity.
